for those of you who didn’t realize, Super Bowl is quite the big deal in terms of American football, and is pretty much up there with the Oscars and Independence Day as far as national celebrations are concerned.
Over the years, we’ve seen some spectacular advertisements and sponsors, yet nothing prepared us for what we got this year: Pokémon.
Yes you heard right, and if you haven’t had a chance to check the advert out- fear not, here it is:
The video comes at the time when we commemorate 20 years of Pokémon (yes, two decades of Pikachu!), and the launch of a new game soon to be released.
So what’s the relation between Pokémon and Super Bowl? Well, evidently, not a lot - but it will make for some great visual fun at the beginning of the third quarter.
And, if you’re a true Pokémon fan, make sure you don’t miss the subtle references during the first part of the video!
